Hard Rock Hotel Macau
The Hard Rock Hotel Macau is a part of the City of Dreams complex that has been built along the Cotai Strip. It is one of four hotels that are part of the complex which also includes one of the largest casinos in the city. The whole facility is one of two giant complexes that have been built in Macau as part of the influx of Las Vegas style hotels. This has occurred because in 2002 the city ended the monopoly rights for gambling in the city to allow these companies to start building casinos. Because of the huge number of people who visit Macau each year and the fact that there are fewer casinos the ones that are being built are much larger than the ones in Las Vegas.
The Hard Rock Hotel Macau is located along the Cotai Strip which is an area of reclaimed land where most of the new casinos are being built. It is intended to resemble the Las Vegas strip but it will be smaller in size because of space limitations. There is really only space for eight to be built so they are being designed as large towers. The Hard Rock for example is forty seven stories tall.
Since the City of Dreams was designed to be a major tourist attraction in itself it has a lot more than just gambling to offer. There is a huge shopping center, a spa, an arena for sports events and concerts as well as more than twenty restaurants. That being said the casino is the main draw and it is huge with more than 1500 slot machines and five hundred gaming tables. One of the other attractions is the Vquarium which is virtual aquarium made of video walls that are more than sixty feet in height.
There are also a couple of shows at the City of Dreams that really attract a lot of visitors. The first of these is the Dancing Water Theatre. This is a show that combines acrobats over a giant pool that includes a number of water effects. Shows are performed daily and can seat up to two thousand people. The other popular show is the Dragons Treasure media show, this is a show that is displayed on a domed screen.
Clearly there is a lot to do if you are a guest at the Hard Rock Hotel Macau but for most visitors the rooms are the main thing that they use to decide where they are going to stay. In this respect the Hard Rock can't be beat. The large Vegas style hotels have got this part of the business down pat. The rooms are excellent and always provide great value for the money. The service is of course outstanding, you will not regret the decision to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel Macau.
